Steve Threet’s Exit Interview

The Michigan Daily recently interviewed former UM quarterback Steve Threet about his reasons for leaving the school and reported the story here. I don’t think there was anything particularly revealing about the interview. Simply put, Threet transferred because he didn’t fit the system, which was clear to pretty much anyone who watched a Michigan game last year. Overall, I thought Steve generally did a good job coming across as pro-Michigan, even while handling a tough question about Coach McGee’s comment describing his play as “inconsistent, as always,” after the MSU game. Threet, however, did say that RR and his staff “could deal with players differently,” and that some former offensive teammates were not “putting the work in to getting better at executing their job.” But it was clear from the interview that these were not the reasons behind his transfer.
